Brent has had a lifetime of experience (over 50 years) in and around trailers having grown up driving tractors and towing trailers around the family dairy farm. At just 17, he built his first trailer as a school project and went on to work in the boating industry, gaining valuable skills at Cruikshank Trailers and Boat City, which imported trailers from Australia and produced aluminum boat trailers in the 1980 and early 90s.
Later Brent went out on his own in the marine industry where he built, rebuilt, and repaired many boat trailers as well as his own personal trailers. In 2006, after stepping away from the boat business, Brent recognized a significant gap in the market for reasonably priced Boat Trailers for New Zealand's many used boats. This realization prompted him to start Xpress Trailers in 2008 and, following a three-year hiatus, to launch Ultra Trailers in 2014.
Now in 2024, after a break doing construction work he is back along with his son Nick who has also been immersed in the world of boats and trailers for a significant part of his life and is now following in his Dads footsteps. After assessing the market we decided that there was still room for improvement in the Boat Trailer Industry, which is where Omega Trailers comes in with our own New Zealand designed Boat Trailers featuring thicker steel and spring-free torsion axle suspension. Also we are now proudly the sole agent for TEMARED Trailers built in Europe. We have visited their factory and inspected their products, checked their quality control and are confident they are far superior trailers built to last.
